Health kiosk in Goa

Goa is small enough that distance is almost never the constraint. From most of the state, a hospital in Panaji, Margao, Vasco or Mapusa is a manageable drive. The constraint is time and headcount volatility.

The working population expands sharply for the tourist season, roughly October through May, and contracts again for the monsoon. This workforce is largely male, heavily contract-based, and works in heat, noise and particulate exposure.
