Eight years ago, we asked one simple question

If ATMs could revolutionise banking by bringing financial services closer to people, why could healthcare not become just as accessible?

That question became the foundation of Clinics On Cloud - and the beginning of a journey to make preventive healthcare available closer to where people live, work and travel. You can read how it began in our story.

The idea was never simply to build another medical device. It was to rethink the point of care itself: to create compact, connected healthcare access points capable of bringing preventive screening, digital health reports, telemedicine and intelligent health insights into everyday environments.

From an idea to a Health ATM ecosystem

Clinics On Cloud began with the belief that healthcare accessibility could be redesigned in the same way ATMs changed banking. Instead of requiring every individual to travel to a hospital for routine screening, technology could bring essential preventive healthcare closer to the person.

That thinking led to the development of the Health ATM and Health Kiosk model - connected microclinics designed to make routine screening faster, more standardised and easier to access. (New to the category? Start with what a Health ATM is, and how the first one came to be.)

Building a bootstrapped healthcare company

Building a bootstrapped healthcare technology company is rarely glamorous. It demands patience, resilience, disciplined capital allocation, regulatory focus and the willingness to keep improving even when the path ahead is uncertain.

Clinics On Cloud spent nearly two years in research and development before the first solution reached the market. Those early years were spent refining hardware, software, connected medical devices, user experience, screening workflows and the operating model required to make distributed healthcare practical.

Every milestone that followed was earned through iteration - listening to customers, improving the product, strengthening manufacturing, expanding service capabilities and learning from deployments across very different healthcare environments.

From a garage to a 20,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and innovation centre

The physical journey of Clinics On Cloud mirrors the evolution of the company itself:

A garage
A co-working space
A small office
The first manufacturing facility

The Chakan facility has been built to support scale, with the capability to manufacture hundreds of Health ATMs every month and expand capacity significantly as demand grows.

Eight years of measurable healthcare impact

What began as a question about accessibility has grown into a connected preventive healthcare network spanning India and international markets - see where Clinics On Cloud is deployed.

3,500+ deployments - Health ATMs and connected healthcare touchpoints deployed across varied use cases
8+ countries - a growing international presence across multiple healthcare systems and geographies
12M+ people screened - millions of preventive health screenings enabled through the network
200+ cities - a footprint that extends from major metros to last-mile locations
Large-scale institutional adoption - deployments and programmes across corporates, governments, healthcare organisations, defence, CSR and community healthcare

Clinics On Cloud solutions have been used by organisations across sectors, including large enterprises and institutional healthcare programmes. The larger significance is not the number of machines installed, but the number of places where preventive healthcare became easier to reach.

What makes the Health ATM model different?

A Health ATM is designed to function as a compact, technology-enabled preventive healthcare access point. Depending on configuration, it can combine multiple health screenings, connected medical devices, digital health records, AI-enabled insights and telemedicine within a single ecosystem.

The model is particularly relevant in environments where building a full clinic or diagnostic centre may be unnecessary, expensive or operationally difficult - the use cases it serves:

Corporate offices

On-site screening can make preventive healthcare more convenient for employees and support ongoing workplace wellness programmes.

Government and public healthcare

Health Kiosks can strengthen PHCs, community health programmes and distributed public-health infrastructure.

CSR and NGOs

Connected screening infrastructure can help organisations move beyond one-day health camps toward more persistent healthcare access.

Hospitals and clinics

Health Kiosks can support screening, outreach, pre-consultation workflows and satellite access points.

Rural and remote healthcare

Connected microclinics - and the Mobile Medical Unit for the places a fixed point cannot reach - can bring preventive screening closer to communities that are far from conventional healthcare facilities.

International healthcare programmes

Configurable digital health infrastructure can be adapted for different markets, subject to local regulatory and implementation requirements.

Why the numbers are not what matters most

The milestone numbers are meaningful, but they are not the reason the journey matters. What matters most is knowing that somewhere, someone got screened earlier because healthcare was closer to them.

A person may discover elevated blood pressure before it becomes a larger problem. Another may identify abnormal glucose levels during a workplace screening. A patient in a remote location may connect with a doctor without travelling hours for a first consultation.

That is the real promise of distributed preventive healthcare: lowering the friction between a person and the first meaningful health interaction.

The first eight years were about building the foundation

The first phase of Clinics On Cloud was about proving the model - developing the technology, building manufacturing capability, learning how to deploy at scale and demonstrating that preventive healthcare infrastructure can operate far beyond the walls of a hospital.

The next phase is about scale. The ambition: screen 1 billion people, expand to 50+ countries and build the world's largest network of AI-powered preventive microclinics.

Why microclinics could become a major layer of global healthcare infrastructure

Healthcare systems around the world face a common challenge: hospitals are essential, but they cannot be the first and only access point for every routine health need.

Many healthcare interactions - preventive screening, routine measurements, health-risk identification, digital reporting and remote consultation - can happen closer to the patient. This creates room for a new infrastructure layer between the individual and the hospital: the microclinic.

A microclinic does not try to replicate a tertiary hospital. It distributes the most frequently needed first-line healthcare capabilities through compact, connected infrastructure.

The future is not only more hospitals. It is more connected points of care.

As healthcare becomes more digital, AI-enabled and connected, the question is no longer only how many hospitals a country can build. A more important question is how many reliable healthcare access points can be placed close to people - and how intelligently those access points can connect back into doctors, hospitals and health systems.

That is the infrastructure problem Clinics On Cloud is working to solve.

Building the infrastructure layer for the global microclinic economy

Clinics On Cloud is evolving from a Health ATM company into a broader connected healthcare infrastructure platform. Its ecosystem includes Health ATMs and Health Kiosks, Health Lounges, Mobile Medical Units, Box Clinics, telemedicine, digital health reporting, AI-enabled healthcare capabilities and connected software.

The common idea across every format is the same: make preventive healthcare available closer to the person and connect each access point into a broader digital healthcare network.

Why the next chapter creates urgency

Preventive healthcare is moving quickly from an optional wellness activity to a core infrastructure requirement for governments, employers, hospitals, insurers and communities.

Organisations that begin building distributed healthcare access today will gain experience in adoption, workflow design, screening operations, data governance and connected care long before the model becomes standard. The opportunity is not simply to buy a Health ATM. It is to decide where your organisation fits in the next generation of healthcare infrastructure.

A journey built by many people

Eight years of Clinics On Cloud have been shaped by the people who believed in the mission before the scale was visible.

To the team, families, customers, partners, vendors, mentors and every organisation that trusted Clinics On Cloud with its healthcare programme: thank you. Every deployment, every iteration and every challenge helped build the foundation for what comes next.

The belief that continues to guide us

We believe the next major healthcare company will not be defined only by how many hospitals it builds. It will be defined by how effectively it builds and connects preventive healthcare access at scale.

Happy 8th Foundation Day to the entire Clinics On Cloud family.
