A successful employee health screening day in Dubai is planned around one goal: giving every employee a reliable check-up and a clear next step, without taking them away from work for long. With a health kiosk, each screening takes about 10 minutes, so a single station can see dozens of people in a working day.

Corporate wellness is growing quickly in the UAE. One estimate puts the market at about US$361 million in 2025, rising to about US$591 million by 2034, according to Khaleej Times. Dubai Healthcare City has also run a corporate wellness screening initiative, starting with Dubai Chamber. Here is how to run a screening day that delivers results, not just goodwill.

Why screen employees at work?

Many health problems give no warning. High blood pressure, high blood sugar and anaemia often have no symptoms until they cause harm. Employees with busy schedules rarely book a check-up for a problem they do not know they have.

On-site screening removes the two biggest barriers: time and travel. When the check-up is a 10-minute walk from the desk, participation rises. When results arrive instantly on the employee’s phone, with a doctor available on video, people act on them.

Four weeks before: set the plan

  • Set the goal. Decide what you want to find: undiagnosed high blood pressure, diabetes or anaemia, or a baseline for a longer wellness programme.
  • Choose the tests. A Clinics On Cloud Health Kiosk covers 65+ parameters, from vitals and BMI to HbA1c, lipid profile and ECG. Pick what matches your workforce. Our kiosk vs clinic check-up guide explains what each test covers.
  • Decide the format. A one-day screening event works for a first baseline. A permanent kiosk or Health Lounge gives year-round access.
  • Agree the doctor pathway. Decide who speaks to employees with abnormal results and how quickly.
  • Confirm data handling. Reports go to the employee only; HR receives anonymised totals. Health data should be hosted in the UAE, as explained in our guide to UAE health data law.

Two weeks before: prepare the space and the people

  • Book the space. Choose a quiet indoor corner with a power socket and Wi-Fi or 4G. A kiosk needs about the floor area of a desk. A Health Lounge needs about 50 square feet and gives full privacy.
  • Build a schedule. Use 15-minute slots by department so queues stay short and teams are not all away at once.
  • Communicate clearly. Tell employees what to expect, in English and Arabic, and in the other languages your teams speak. Explain that results are private.
  • Share preparation notes. Some blood tests are more accurate after fasting. Ask people to bring a list of any medicines they take.
  • Name a coordinator. One person in HR or facilities should own the day.

On the day: run it smoothly

  • Welcome desk: consent forms and a printed slot list.
  • Trained operator: one per kiosk. No clinician is needed for standard screening; Clinics On Cloud trains your operator.
  • Instant reports: each employee receives a colour-coded report on WhatsApp or email in minutes.
  • Doctor on video: anyone with a red or amber result can speak to a doctor right at the kiosk.
  • Comfort: water, snacks and a seat for anyone who has fasted.

The week after: follow up and measure

  • Follow up referrals. Check that employees who were referred have booked their next step.
  • Review the dashboard. Look at participation, the most common risk areas and the departments to focus on next.
  • Share the results. Tell employees what the company learned in aggregate, and what it will do next.
  • Plan the next round. Screening once a year finds problems. Screening every quarter shows whether they are improving.

What to measure

A screening day should produce numbers you can act on. Track these:

MeasureWhy it matters
Participation rateShows whether employees trust and value the programme
Share of employees flagged amber or redShows the size of hidden health risk
Referral follow-up rateShows whether screening leads to care
Repeat screening rateShows whether employees keep checking
Change in risk over timeShows whether the programme is working

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Treating it as a one-off event. The value comes from repeat screening and follow-up.
  • Leaving out shift workers. Schedule slots for night and weekend teams too.
  • Sharing personal results with managers. This destroys trust and may breach data rules.
  • No plan for red results. Every abnormal reading needs a clear next step.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does each employee's screening take?

About 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the tests chosen.

Do we need a nurse or doctor on site?

Not for standard screening. A trained operator runs the kiosk, and a doctor joins by video when needed.

Will HR see individual results?

No. Employees receive their own reports; HR sees only anonymised, aggregate data.
